What changed
- Our website and email addresses moved to the aaggregates.store domain.
- First published.
These terms apply when you request or book plant hire (such as TLBs, excavators, tippers and rollers) or a site service (such as haulage, rubble removal, skip bins, site clearing or demolition) through aaggregates.store (the "Platform"). They sit alongside our general Terms & Conditions; where the two differ for a hire or service booking, these terms apply.
1. Who does what
- The Platform is operated by Aggregated Aggregates, a division of Besbpo Group (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us").
- For plant hire and site services, we arrange the job and a vetted independent partner ("the Partner") carries it out with its own machines, vehicles, operators and crew.
- We quote you, take your payment, send the job to a Partner, keep the record of the job and pay the Partner once the job is signed off. Our fee for arranging the job is included in the price we quote you.
- The Partner is responsible for its machines, operators and crew, and for doing the work safely and competently.
2. Requests and quotes
- A request through the Platform is an enquiry, not a booking. Nothing is booked or charged until you accept a quote and pay it.
- Our quote is based on a written quote from a Partner for your job. It states what is included, the dates, the site and the total price, and may state a date until which it is valid.
- Prices are in South African Rand. A quote applies to the job as described; changes to the job, site, dates or duration may need a new quote.
3. What is included in wet hire
Unless your quote says otherwise, plant hire is wet hire: the machine comes with an operator, fuel and the operator's personal protective equipment.
- A hire day is up to 8 machine hours. Extra hours and standing time (time the machine is on site but can't work because of the site) are charged only if they are set out in your quote or agreed in writing before they are worked.
- Transport to site (mobilisation, including lowbed transport for larger machines) is included in your quote where stated. Sites more than 100km from the Partner are always quoted individually.
- Monthly and long-term hire, demolition and scheduled waste removal are quoted per job.
4. Accepting and paying
- You accept a quote in your account on the Platform and pay the quoted total by EFT using the booking reference shown. Other payment methods will be offered on the Platform as they become available.
- Your booking is confirmed once your payment has cleared. We then offer the job to Partners near your site.
- If a quote has a validity date and it passes before you accept, we will re-confirm the price with the Partner before you can book.
5. Your responsibilities on site
You agree to:
- give safe, legal and practical access to the site for the machine or vehicle and its transport;
- tell us in advance about anything that affects the work or safety — including underground services, overhead lines, ground conditions, slopes, asbestos or other hazardous materials;
- have any permissions, permits or wayleaves the work needs;
- be, or have someone, available on site to meet the crew and to sign off the work; and
- not ask the operator to work unsafely or outside the scope of the quote.
Demolition and the removal of hazardous waste need specific competencies, permits and method statements; we only arrange them where your quote says so. Asbestos removal is not available through the Platform.
6. Matching a Partner
- After payment, we offer your job to Partners with suitable equipment near your site, one at a time. Each Partner has a short window to accept.
- We tell you which Partner has accepted. For everyone's protection, we don't share your contact details with the Partner, or the Partner's with you — please use the messages in your booking.
- If no Partner can take the job on your dates, we will offer you other dates or a full refund of what you paid for that booking.
7. Arrival code and starting the job
- When the crew arrives, open your booking and show them your 6-digit arrival code. Entering the code starts the job and confirms the crew is on your site.
- Only open the code when the crew is actually with you, and don't share it in advance. Opening a new code cancels the previous one.
8. During the job
- The Partner records the work — hours, hour-meter readings or loads — on daily job cards in your booking, which you can see.
- Messages in your booking are kept as a record of the job. Phone numbers, email addresses and links are removed from messages automatically, and our staff may review messages where that happens or where there is a dispute (see our Privacy Policy).
9. Sign-off and disputes
- When the work is done, sign it off in your booking. You can rate the Partner if you wish.
- If something is wrong — work not done, done badly, or not as quoted — raise a dispute in your booking while the job is in progress or within 48 hours of signing off. The Partner is not paid while a dispute is open.
- We will look at the job cards, messages and anything else either side provides, and decide whether the Partner is paid or you are refunded in full or in part. We will explain the outcome in your booking.
- If you don't raise a dispute within 48 hours of signing off, the Partner is paid. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, where it applies.
10. Cancellations and refunds
- Before you pay: you can decline a quote at no cost.
- After you pay, before a Partner accepts: ask us to cancel and we will refund what you paid for that booking in full.
- After a Partner accepts: cancellation may involve charges the Partner has already incurred (for example, transport already arranged). We will tell you the amount before we confirm the cancellation, and refund the rest.
- If we or the Partner cancel, you receive a full refund for the part of the job not carried out.
- Refunds are paid by EFT to the account you paid from, normally within 10 business days of being agreed.
11. Weather, breakdowns and things outside anyone's control
If work can't go ahead or must stop because of weather, a breakdown, unsafe site conditions or other circumstances beyond reasonable control, we will arrange a replacement machine, new dates or a refund for the time not worked. You are not charged for time lost because the Partner's machine broke down.
12. Damage and loss
- The Partner is responsible for loss or damage caused by its machines, operators or crew while carrying out your job, and is required by us to hold public-liability insurance.
- You are responsible for loss or damage caused by information you gave being wrong or incomplete (for example, unmarked underground services), or by the site not being safe or accessible as agreed.
- Report any damage in your booking messages as soon as you notice it.
13. Dealing with the Partner directly
Our service depends on jobs being arranged through the Platform. Please do not arrange further work directly with a Partner you were introduced to through the Platform. Work arranged outside the Platform is not covered by these terms, our dispute process or our payment protection.
14. Our liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost profits or project delays). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Questions about them can be sent to legal@aaggregates.store, and questions about a booking to the messages in that booking or sales@aaggregates.store.
