Handling Fee Policy

This policy complements our Returns & Refunds Policy. It explains the handling fee that applies when correctly supplied materials are returned for a reason that is not our fault or the supplier's.
1. When the handling fee applies
Manufactured and stocked materials — for example bricks, blocks, pavers, precast products, reinforcing steel in stock lengths, roof sheets in stock lengths, roof and structural timber, bagged cement and other packaged goods — are ordered from the manufacturer or supplier for your order.
If you ask to return materials that were supplied correctly, for example because:
- you ordered the wrong product, size, grade or quantity;
- your plans or the project changed; or
- you no longer need the materials,
and we agree to the return, a handling fee of 18% is charged.
2. How the fee is calculated
The handling fee is 18% of the final amount charged for the materials being returned, as shown on your invoice — the price you actually paid for those items after any trade discount, including VAT where VAT is charged. Delivery fees are not refunded and are not part of this calculation.
The fee is deducted from the refund (or credit) for the returned materials. For example, if the materials you return were charged at R10,000.00, the handling fee is R1,800.00 and R8,200.00 is refunded.
The fee covers everything involved in the return: arranging it with the manufacturer or supplier, coming to your site, collecting the materials and taking them back to the manufacturer or distributor, the supplier's own restocking charges, inspecting the materials and processing the refund. There is no separate charge for collection transport.
3. Conditions for a return
We can only accept a return where:
- the manufacturer or supplier agrees to take the materials back;
- the materials are unused, undamaged and in the condition in which they were delivered (complete packs, pallets or bundles where they were delivered that way); and
- you ask for the return in writing at support@aaggregates.store within 7 days of delivery, quoting your order number and the items and quantities you want to return.
We will confirm in writing whether the return is accepted and the handling fee before the materials are returned.
4. When no handling fee is charged
There is no handling fee where:
- the materials delivered do not match what you ordered;
- the materials are defective or do not conform to the stated standard; or
- the quantity delivered is short of the quantity invoiced.
These cases are dealt with under the Returns & Refunds Policy without any charge.
5. Materials that cannot be returned
This policy does not make returnable anything the Returns & Refunds Policy excludes. Bulk and bagged aggregate cannot be returned once dispatched, and materials cut or made to your specification — such as roof sheets cut to length and steel cut and bent — cannot be returned once cut or made, except as that policy sets out.
6. Statutory rights
This policy does not limit any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, to the extent it applies to your purchase.
